Dorset Buttons

I found a really interesting piece on Bonkers about Buttons about the history of Dorset buttons. From the 1620s to the introduction of mechanisation in the 1850s this was a thriving cottage industry in Dorset. Below is an example of a Birds Eye button, but there were many other designs.
