Zoë: Granny Square Blanket

I have made another crochet blanket, this one is a giant granny square in more than one way! I used three strands of yarn and a 15mm crochet hook making it really chunky, and the granny square is just one big square. This is a very quick blanket to make.

I used nine 100g balls of cheap acrylic double knitting yarn, three of each of the three colours. I used shades of pink and purple to give a deep warm colour when combined. You can use whatever colours you want depending on the effect you are going for. You could also use up a random collection of odd balls. The balls I used are approximately 280m long. The finished blanket is approximately 140cm square.
