On a recent holiday to the Lake District we visited the National Trust house Townend. This is a very interesting farm house, it was owned and lived in by the same family for over 400 years before being acquired by the National Trust. Nearly all the bedrooms feature patchwork quilts. These quilts are the kind of quilt you would expect to see in a farm house, I imagine them being made by the women of the family from old clothes and scraps of fabric. I don’t know if these quilts were in fact made by the family, but it is nice to think so.
These pictures are not brilliant, but it is really dark in the farm house in general and while we were there the weather was so bad it was even darker!
