Zoë: Fabric Picture

My Mum and I seem to be getting into a habit of making a collage when we do crafty things together. We made a nature study embroidery during our holiday in Wales earlier this year, and we made pictures from hand dyed threads we bought at the Festival of Quilts a couple of years ago.

After the Festival of Quilts this year, we made countryside scenes using fabric that looked like flowers, grass and sky. This one above is my picture.

After layering up the fabric we added some embroidery, focusing on details like the flowers, or adding extra texture to grass and trees. This is my Mum’s picture.

  1. You might like the very simple embroideries made by Janet Bolton; they are quite sparse and have a japanese feel to them. Your flower picture reminded me of her work.
