My husband has an iPad that needed a cover to protect it when he carries it around. I have some really useful fabric that is thick and fleece lined, it is perfect for protective cases.
I made a simple slip cover by cutting a long rectangle the required width and twice the required length plus an extra 2cm for hemming the tops. This method can be used to make a slip case for anything. I hemmed both ends first and then stitched a piece of ribbon down the centre to form a tie closure at the top.
I folded the panel in half with right sides together and then stitched down each side to form a pouch. This project took less than an hour to make, it is really simple but very useful cover.
