Book Review: The Gentle Art of Knitting

This review of The Gentle Art of Knitting is written by Zoë

What is it in particular that you like about this book?

The projects are lovely and varied, but I really like reading the inspiration behind each project best. The whole book has a really nice relaxed cosy feel. The pictures are really pretty and the instructions are easy to follow.

Would you say this was a suitable book for novices, or do you need some prior knowledge to really enjoy the projects on offer?

There are some really easy knits, but there are no beginners instructions so previous knowledge would be useful.

Have you completed any/many of the projects?

I have made a stripy clothes hanger cover (p.93). It was really quick and turned a plain wooden hanger into something pretty.

Did this book inspire you to create your own designs?

There are so many projects I want to make I haven’t been inspired to make my own projects like I usually am.
