Top Tip Tuesday: Making your own Bias Binding

For those of us who quilt or make clothes, bias binding is a very useful item to have on standby. It looks like ribbon but it has an extra fold down each of its long sides which means you can use it to enclose an edge – like on a quilt, or on the seam, facing or hem of a garment. It’s available in many colours and widths, but it’s also easy to make your own: all you need is fabric, and if you want to reproduce those folds, a bias tape maker.
