This week was the second sew make believe AGM and birthday party. We got the AGM bits out of the way first then we had a raffle, auction and lots of yummy food!
The raffle and auction were to raise money for charity in memory of our member, Nadia, who sadly died earlier this year. The main item in the auction was Nadia’s dressmakers dummy, and there was also a crochet blanket made by Zoë from the club yarn stash up for bids.
There were lots of raffle prizes, some small items of Nadia’s and other craft bits and magazines. We had lots of fun drawing out the raffle prizes, and raised over £100 overall.
Of course it would not have been much of a party without food, we had lots of tasty things to nibble on! The rest of the evening we spent chatting.
Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and auction items for helping us to raise such a respectable sum of money. We will be donating the all proceeds to a charity in Nadia’s memory.
