Workshop: Crochet

We put the Giant Stash to good use again this week as Roisin ran another crochet workshop. This was the third one following on from the beginner’s workshop and granny squares. The focus was on straight crochet rather than in the round, and how to follow a crochet pattern.

Roisin was a very good teacher again, even providing hand outs! We were using a scarf pattern that required 300 stitches to start with, but as this was rather a lot for us to start on, we reduced it down to 30 stitches and made bookmark scarves instead!

If anyone couldn’t make the workshop and would like to start learning crochet or improve their existing skills, Roisin recommends Stitch ‘n Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker.

  1. Last night, I started a new bookmark to see if any of the instruction had stuck and guess what? I remembered how to do it!!!! This just goes to show what a great teacher Roisin is – I am amazed that in just 2 separate 2-hour sessions, I have managed to learn how to crochet!!

Roisin has said she is happy to run more crochet workshops in the future so if you missed out, let us know!
