Book Review: Knitted Toys – Zoë Mellor

I love this book, Knitted toys – Zoë Mellor, it contains a wonderful range of toys that are fun to knit and fun to play with. Some are small and quick to knit, others take more time, but are worth the effort.

I have been really pleased with how the toys I have tried have worked out, of the 25 designs, I have made at least 10 (doll, tortoise and fish shown in this review). The patterns are easy to follow, but there are no instructions for how to knit so a beginner might need to refer to other resources. Patterns are printed in the book for the felt pieces required by some designs. There are lots of lovely photos of the toys showing them from various angles.

Some of these toys can be adapted to make nice gifts for adults, such as making one little fish, rather than a whole string of them, and using it as a hanging decoration, or filling it with lavender.
